IV Infusion - Peripheral IV Replacement

Removed old dressing over PIV line, pulled out old PIV without difficulty. Catheter intact with no observable break or tear. Prepared new site for PIV insertion by using chloroprep to clean the area, air dried, then inserted new PIV line using 24G x 3/4" catheter needle. Able to establish blood return, removed needle and secured PIV catheter in place with window dressing. Flushed PIV line with 5ml Saline with no resistance. Used 3ml Heparin as last flush.
