Taught patient to monitor the PICC line with any indication of line occlusion. Catheter occlusion is the partial or complete obstruction of a catheter, preventing or limiting the infusion of the IV medication. Instructed patient that if this is encountered, to check the clamps that they are open, to check the catheter for kinks and if none of these are observed then to call SN immediately.
